Thawfrost Port

Arriving at the port, you are welcomed by a team of Ice Grengan. They eagerly ensure your boat is moored, with efficiency and a vigor that is unusual for the Grengan people. Looking about, you see the port is immaculately clean; it is devoid of the usual seagulls that frequent ports, sailors wandering drunkenly about the place and fishermen going about their jobs. In fact, for a port, it is eerily quiet. Only the lapping of the waves can be heard. In a nearby building are a series of devices the Ice Grengan describe as being lathes. With little noise, you watch as some of the icy giants place red and white stripy blocks onto the lathes and push at a pedal to spin the blocks. Applying a rough paper, the blocks are polished into a thin rod, which is then removed and heated to give one end a curve. It is an efficient process, although the purpose and use of the canes is unclear.
